Obituary of Ann Ogle

Funeral Services for Marjorie Ann Ogle of St. Louis, MO will be at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry with Rev. Laura Taylor, pastor of Elsberry United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Elsberry City Cemetery near Elsberry, MO. Also on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, there will be a Celebration of Life at 3:00 p.m. at Green Trails United Methodist Church in Chesterfield, MO with Rev Dr. Linda Settles, church pastor officiating. Ann, 72, passed away Thursday morning, March 7, 2024 at Delmar Gardens Creve Coeur in Creve Coeur, MO. Born April 11, 1951 in Moberly, MO, Ann was the daughter of Robert Francis and Marjorie Jane Etherton Sanders, Sr. Ann was a 1969 graduate of Parkway Central High School in St. Louis. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, MO in 1973, where she was a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority. Ann was a member of the St. Louis Tall Society where she met and later was married William Leslie Ogle in 1981. This union was blessed with one daughter, Dawn. Ann worked as a housekeeper for the Shriner’s house for 11 years. She served as a Girl Scout Mounted Troop Leader. Ann was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter KG in Chesterfield. She was a member of Green Trails United Methodist Church in Chesterfield. Ann was involved in a car accident in 1974 and was in a coma for 60 days. After recovery, she had a tremendous growth in her faith, developed a deep love for music and desired to become a member of a church that accepted all people. Ann enjoyed coming to Elsberry, especially the family farm and developed a strong tie to horses, loved horseback riding, especially with her horse, “Thor”. Ann worked as a clerk for Lion’s Choice, retiring after 11 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Marjorie Sanders, Sr. Survivors include her daughter, Dawn Ogle of St. Ann, MO; and granddaughter, Anna Stein. Ann also leaves two brothers: William C. Sanders of Fenton, MO and Robert F. Sanders, Jr. and his wife, Tamara, of Salem, VA; one sister, Sally Armstrong of Boise, ID; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at noon on Tuesday at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until time of Celebration of Life at Green Trails United Methodist Church, 14273 Ladue Road, Chesterfield, MO. Memorials may be made to God’s Green Acre Association (formerly Girl Scout Mounted Troop #1184) (or) to Shriner’s Hospital for Children in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
