Obituary of Clarice Aline Chandler

Graveside Services for Clarice Aline Smith Chandler of Clarksville, MO will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the Elsberry City Cemetery near Elsberry. Rev. Al Boatman pastor of Clarksville Christian Church, will officiate. Ms. Chandler, 85, returned home Sunday afternoon, November 22, 2015. She is at peace with our Lord, her loving husband, Lloyd, precious daughter, Carol and her beloved Jim. Born October 10, 1930 in Verdon, SD, she was the daughter of Leroy and Mary Larson Baumann. The family moved to Clarksville, MO in 1944. Clarice graduated from Clarksville High School. She was united in marriage on August 23, 1947 in Clarksville, MO to Lloyd Smith, Jr. This union was blessed with two daughters: Cayla and Carol. Clarice was later married again to James Martin Chandler. She was an active member of Clarksville Christian Church and the inner church council. Clarice loved helping people and making them smile. She had the most generous heart and never turned anyone in need away. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Mary Baumann; her former husband, Lloyd Smith; her step-son, Jimmy Lee Chandler; one step-grandson, Ryan Jennings; her sister, Evelyn Rutledge; one daughter, Carol Renee King;and her final love, James Martin “Jim” Chandler. Survivors include one daughter, Cayla Marie Leake and her husband, Tom, of Paynesville, MO; one step-daughter, Tammy Lee Perez and her husband, Larentino of Louisiana, MO; one daughter-in-law, Zula Chandler and her companion, Gary; and one step-son, Luther Davis and his wife, Vickey; four grandchildren: Hayley Marie Leake, Rheed Thomas Leake, Jordan Scott Dyer and Taylor Renee Dyer and three step-grandchildren: James Lee Chandler, Matthew Daniel Chandler and Samantha Lee Mckenny. Clarice also leaves two brothers: Alfred Baumann and his wife, Darlene, of Louisiana and Gene Baumann and his wife, Mary Kaye, of Rocheport, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
