Obituary of Edna Lee Parsons

Funeral Services for Edna Lee Parsons of Troy, MO, formerly of Winfield, MO, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Winfield. Rev. Mike Ryan, church pastor, will officiate with burial in New Salem Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Evans, Reggie Evans, Tony Fox, Rodger Evans, David Fox and Daniel Parsons; and honorary pallbearers will be Russell Evans, Steve Griffon, Scott Swihart and Shelly Swihart. Mrs. Parsons, 85, passed away Sunday evening, June 21, 2015 at the Arbors in Troy. Born November 25, 1929 in Old Monroe, MO she was the daughter of Gustav H. and Bernice Janell Hoecker Dickmeyer. She was united in marriage on April 3, 1947 in Troy, MO to Samuel Franklin Parsons. This union was blessed with four children: Sherry, Susie, Danny and Gail. She was employed for many years as a silk screener at McDonnell-Douglas aircraft manufacturer in St. Louis, MO. Edna was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gustav and Bernice Dickmeyer; one brother, Edward Kenneth Dickmeyer; one son-in-law, Ted Evans; and her beloved husband of 67 years, Sam Parsons, who died August 24, 2014. Survivors include one son, Danny Parsons and his wife, Paula of Winfield; three daughters: Sherry L. Diederich and her husband, Raymond, of St. Peters, MO, Susie Evans of Winfield, and Gail Byington and her husband, Albert, Jr., of Moscow Mills, MO; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and five great, great-grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters: Lorene Ethington and her husband, Harold, of Troy, and Dottie Mae Ethington of Winfield; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
