Obituary of Marilyn White

A Mass of Christian Burial for Marilyn B. White of Elsberry, MO will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry. Fr. Bill Peckman, pastor of St. Clement Catholic Church in Bowling Green, MO, will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Mrs. White, 85, passed away Tuesday morning, June 9, 2015 at the Elsberry Health Care Center near Elsberry. Born June 10, 1929 in Belleville, IL, she was the daughter of Robert and Rosa K. Raab Brenner. Marilyn was united in marriage on May 20, 1950 in Hannibal, MO to Jay Dehner White. This union was blessed with four children: Jay, Gregory, Judy and Wendy. Marilyn worked as the secretary for the Lincoln County R-2 School District for many years, retiring in 1998. She also prepared income tax returns for a number of years. She was a friend and assistant to Margaret Palmer for many years, especially during the building of the Joseph R. Palmer Family Memorial Library in Elsberry. She also served on the Margaret Palmer Scholarship Committee for several years. Marilyn was a longtime member of the Sacred Heart parish, serving as the organist for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Rosa Brenner; one sister, Myra Jean Howell; her brother-in-law, Bill Billings; and her beloved husband of nearly 46 years, Jay White, who died March 26, 1996. Survivors include her children: Jay R. White of Atlanta, GA, Gregory M. White of St. Peters, MO, Judy Robinson and her husband, Ronnie, of Elsberry and Wendy Boedeker and her husband, Jim, also of Elsberry; seven grandchildren: Jason White, Alison Kipp, Jessica Robinson, Dustin Robinson, Chloe Ross, Michael Boedeker and Alex Boedeker; and seven great-grandchildren. Marilyn also leaves one sister, Rosemary Billings of Elsberry; other relatives and many, many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2015 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry and again on Tuesday at Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Memorials may be made to the Joseph R. Palmer Family Memorial Library in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
