Obituary of Vera Dee Arnhold

Vera Arnhold Funeral Services for Vera Dee Arnhold of Troy, MO, formerly of Winfield, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2015. Rev. Mark Spense, pastor of the Old Alexandria United Methodist Church, will officiate with burial in Old Alexandria Cemetery near Troy, MO. Mrs. Arnhold, 86, passed away Wednesday morning, February 18, 2015 at Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy. Born April 25, 1928 near Troy, she was the daughter of Walter and Minnie Dee Crume Raney. Vera was united in marriage on April 22, 1954 in Troy to Henry Alfred Arnhold. She was a lifelong member of the Old Alexandria United Methodist Church near Troy where she served as an organist, beginning at the age of 16 until retiring in August, 2012 after 70 years of service. Vera was an active charter member of the Old Alexandria Women. Vera was a very active member of DAR-Troy Chapter, having held all chapter offices during her membership, including serving as Past State Literacy Chairman. Vera was an active participant in the Winfield School Reading Buddy Program, serving as the coordinator from 2001 until 2008. She began volunteering for Lincoln County Medical Center in 2000 and was a longtime member of the Lincoln County Medical Center Auxiliary, serving as Immediate Past President. She chaired and organized the Gospel program at the Lincoln County Fair. Also active in the Winfield area, Vera was a participant and volunteer at Winco. She and Henry chaired the Cystic Fibrosis bike-a-thon in Winfield for many years. Vera also volunteered with the American Cancer Society Drive in Winfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Minnie Dee Crume Raney; her sister, Melba Ferguson and her husband, Harrell S. Ferguson; and her beloved husband of 46 years, Henry Arnhold, who died June 19, 2000. Survivors include her nieces: Charlene Amrhein of St. Peters, MO and Judy Tilton of Troy. She also leaves her great-nephew, Gregory Amrhein and his wife, Kimberly, of St. Ann, MO; her great-niece, Tammy Wasem and her husband, David, of Wentzville, MO; and her great, great-nephews, Steven, Matthew and Daniel Amrhein. Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2015 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
